SIC Code Finder
Every UK company needs a SIC code at registration. Describe what your business does and we'll suggest the most likely one(s), or check a code you already have.
Type a few words about what you do, or tap a sector above.
A quick-reference finder covering the most common founder business types. For an exhaustive lookup, check the official Companies House SIC list. Your SIC code affects how your company is classified, not directly the tax you pay.
What is a SIC code?
A SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) code is a 5-digit number that describes what your company does. Companies House requires every UK company to declare at least one SIC code at incorporation, and you can register up to four if your business covers more than one activity.
How to find your SIC code
Type a plain-English description of what your business does into the finder above, or tap one of the sector shortcuts. Already have a code and just want to check it? Switch to the "Check a code" tab. For an exhaustive lookup, see the official Companies House SIC list.
